BASSWAX
Tips
Here are some suggestions on
using Basswax Pro-Stick. We would like to thank all of our
customers who have contacted us and contributed to this list.
Applying Basswax to
Lures
Jigs
Apply to
the eye, the head & along the end of the trailer.
Do not
apply to the skirt of the jig, because it can affect the
action.
Spooks, Plugs & other hard
baits
Apply
anywhere on lurelook out for those hooks on the spook!
Tube Baits
Use
Basswax as a lubricant to insert lead weight into the bait
Spinner Bait
Apply to
the head of the lure, eye, blades & along the end of the trailer.
Like the
jig, be careful of getting too much on the skirt.
When
applying to the blades, make it a nice thin layer.
Spoons
To wake
up those deep, lazy fish. This is a
favorite feature as I can think of nothing that will stick to a flat piece of
metal and stay as well as Basswax.
Worms, Lizards and other soft
baits
Some
apply a thin layer, some like to gob it onwhen it comes to rubber bait, there
is no wrong way to apply.
Glow Bugs
Excellent
for trout!! Put a little Sardine or
Garlic (yes I said Garlic) right on the eye of the hook.
Quickfish, Flatfish
lures
Apply
anywhere along the bottom.
Use
Basswax instead of a messy, time consuming sardine wrapper
Many
river guides are using Basswax Sardine & Crawdad in addition to the Sardine
wrapper. They have confessed that
Basswax actually keeps the scent even longer than the fillet itself, and that
they keep the wrapper on so that the lure action doesnt change.
Cleaning
For
plastic or metal lures such as crankbaits, spinnerbaits or spoons, simply wipe
off at the end of the day.
For
rubber baits like worms, lizards or trailers, no cleaning is
required.
If Basswax is left on a lure
for an extended amount of time & gets 'sticky', simply run under hot
water. We learned this when we forgot to clean off our sports show
demo lures & they were left for several
months.
If
you know some good tips to using Basswax that arent listed, wed love to hear
them & post
them.
Tell us
your tip!
